Donald W Mains' Obituary
Donald W. Mains, 78, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Donald was born July 16, 1939, in Pipestone, MN, to Ernest F. and Cora Catherine (Damman) Mains. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He married Judith l. Liddle on August 4, 1965, in Decatur. He worked at BorgWarner for many years and later worked at Sears as a Preventative Maintenance Technician. Donald was a member of a senior bowling league, loved woodworking, fishing, gardening, and watching the Minnesota Vikings and Illinois basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy; his daughter, Tracy Mains of Bartlett, IL; his brother, Marvin Mains of Gwinn, MI and his sister, Judy (Tony) Bartu of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Clayton and Stanley Mains; and two sisters, Marilyn Mains and Dorothy Wiese.
Visitation to celebrate the life of Donald Mains will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Graceland Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorial may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter.
