I feel honored to have known the Novak family for 40 years. They are all some of the most honest and caring individuals I have ever known. I will always have fond thoughts of Don . We used to hunt doves in our teens in Shelbyville Il. Don and I joked for years over one hunt. We seperated and took different positions in a field agreeing to meet a certain time later in the afternoon. I heard him firing through at least a box of shells. When we met I asked him how many he bagged. His answer was 0. As we were nearing the parking lot a flock of 8-10 doves were flying towards us and I told Don they were all his as I could shoot no more. Don took aim and fired knocking one down in the middle of the group. As I was congratulating him he said ” but Eddy, I was aiming at the first one”. A wingshooter he was not. He was a loyal and honest friend. He was one of the hardest workers I have ever known, working harder than men half his age. He was extremely independent. He would give someone he felt in need his last penny. My love and best regards go out to his family. He will now rest peacefully in heaven.
Don was a good friend, hard worker, very creative, and always looking for that GOOD DEAL He is missed now and forever. My sympathy and prayers to many friends and family. R I P DON
