Donald A. Sheumaker's Obituary
Donald A. Sheumaker, 85, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born August 6, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the son of Paul and Irma (Reed) Sheumaker.
Donald graduated from Decatur High School, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later worked in real estate for 30 years in Decatur. Donald was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge #401. He was an avid collector of post cards and stamps. He was also a St. Louis Cardinals and Illini fan.
Donald leaves behind his son, Mike (Cheryl) Sheumaker of Decatur; daughter, Lisa (Sam) Arizpe of Texas; sister, Frances Lindsey of Decatur; and two step-grandchildren, Chris (Desi) Becker and Phil Becker.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Sheumaker.
A memorial graveside to celebrate Donald’s life will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Macon County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials in memory of Donald may be donated to the Macon County Honor Guard.
