Decatur- Donna Joyce Gharst, 75 of Decatur, passed away 10:09 a.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Memorial services to celebrate Donna's life will be 6 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony to conclude the services. Donna was born March 25, 1935 in Decatur, the daughter of Harold and Venita (Harris) Perkins. She was previously employed at Perfect Potato Chip and Griegolet. She enjoyed going to the theater and spending time with family and friends. She married Berl Wayne Gharst in July of 1952. He preceded her in death February 27, 2002.
She leaves behind her daughter; Tami Gharst of Decatur, son; Berl 'Butch' Gharst and wife Sandi of Decatur, brother; Bob Perkins of Decatur, sisters; Joann Reedy of Kentucky, and Sondra Carnahan of Decatur, grandchildren; Austin Gharst, Kari Burnett and husband Jesse, Sara Gharst, Kaley Gharst and Whitney Gharst, great-grandchildren; Treyton Gharst and Jansen Burnett, and extended family Fred Whilhite of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
