Donna Janes' Obituary
Donna Janes, 94, of Warrensburg, IL, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at McKinley Court with her family by her side.
Donna was born February 23, 1921, in Chestnut, IL, the daughter of William and Pearl (Walker) Bland. Donna married Joseph A. Janes on August 17, 1945 in Arkansas, and they both owned and operated Peacock Cleaners in Decatur. They sold the business and moved to a farm where Donna enjoyed gardening and tending to livestock. Donna later opened up an antique shop called Cracker Barrel where she worked at until she retired. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death in 1978.
Donna leaves behind her sister, Julia Rose Ingram of Lincoln, IL; grandchildren, Phillip Batchelder of Warrensburg; Bobbi Batchelder of Warrensburg; Patti Cullison of San Diego, CA; Nancy Crittenden of Mineola, TX; Stan Batchelder of Mineola, TX; and several great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Bill; and sister, June.
A graveside service to celebrate Donna’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016, in Graceland Cemetery.
