Donna Elaine Wilson's Obituary
Donna Elaine Wilson, 77, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away March 2, 2024, at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Donna was born in Champaign, Illinois, on January 25, 1947, the daughter of Donald and Patricia (Mara) Young. She married Charles Wilson on August 17, 1963, in Farmer City, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2023.
Donna was educated as an accountant and worked as a bookkeeper, retiring from Striglos after many years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, camping, needlepoint, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and she served as bookkeeper for the Legion.
Donna is survived by her daughters: Julie (Tony) Maton of Decatur, Janet (Randy Reid) Manners of Maroa, Niki (Aaron) Michael of Eastman, Georgia, and Kristine (Jared) Gambrill of Shelbyville; sister Nancy (Roger) Daniels; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her beloved dog Taz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation for Donna will be from 10am to 11am on Thursday, March 7, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11am in the funeral home. Entombment in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service.
