Doris Juanita Boehm's Obituary
Decatur – Doris “Juanita” Boehm, 87, of Decatur was called to her eternal home Sunday, January 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Juanita was born May 3, 1928 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Reuel and Mary (McKinley) Manes. Juanita graduated from Decatur High School and worked at Goldblatt’s until her retirement. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Juanita’s most precious times were with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, reading, crossword puzzles and following her favorite sport teams.
Juanita married Robert A. Boehm, Sr., May 22, 1948 in Decatur and he preceded her in death Feb. 12, 2003. Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents, sister (Betty Kampf) and brother (Vernon Manes).
Juanita is survived by her daughters: Judy (Tom) Andrix of Wellsville, OH, Linda (Mick) Yarbrough of Decatur, Shirley (Bob) Mitchell of St. Charles, MO, and Tina (Frank) Shepke of Columbia, S.C.; sons: Robert (Mary Kay) Boehm, Jr., of Pauma Valley, CA, and Ronald (Florence) Boehm of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We will miss her gentle touch and her faith-filled wisdom.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Macon County Special Olympics.
