Doris Darlene Markwell's Obituary
Doris Darlene Markwell, 82, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 4:08 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in her home with her family by her side.
Darlene was born September 20, 1933 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Rev. Edward and Mildred (Taylor) Trent. She worked at Bodine Environmental Services for ten years. Darlene then was a babysitter for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a fifty-six year member of First Wesleyan Church where she served as the organist and secretary. She then attended Second Church of God. Darlene loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married Orville Markwell April 9, 1953. They shared over sixty-three years together.
Darlene leaves behind her husband Orville, daughter Deborah Kier, special nephew Brant Trent, grandchildren Pam (Brent) Daily, Troy (Christina) Kier, Christopher (Jennifer) Kier, and Andrea Trent, great-grandchildren Kadelyn, Peyton, Bradley, Callee, Tucker, June, Cooper, and Makayla, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Darlene was reunited in Heaven with her parents, one brother Bob Trent, sister-in-law Ann Trent, son-in-law Tommy Kier, and niece Linda Trent.
The family would like to give a special thanks to their church family and friends for all of their prayers and support over the last years.
Services to celebrate Darlene’s life will be 2 PM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Second Church of God, 2670 E Division St, Decatur, with Pastor Mike Pritts officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the church. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Second Church of God.
