Doris Jeannine Hazlet's Obituary
Doris Jeannine Hazlet, 94, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 11:55 A.M. on Thursday (12-07-2023) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jeannine was born on January 5, 1929, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Robert Samuel Walker and Olive L. Walker. She married Doran Eugene Hazlet on February 27, 1947, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2006.
Jeannine was a member of Lampstand Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL. She enjoyed singing, entertaining, painting and gardening. She had worked as an Admissions Clerk at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter: Laura Lee Frank of Naperville, IL; son: Joseph Todd Hazlet and wife Frances of Moberly, MO; five grandchildren: Sara, Tyler, Michael, Amanda, and Amelia; five great-grandchildren: Destiny, John Michael, Adler, Aria, Micah and Delilah Rose.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and sisters.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her niece and nephew Sue and Pete for their loving care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday (01-06-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time. A Graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at Fairlawn Cemetery.
