Doris Mattchen's Obituary
Doris Mattchen, 90, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Evergreen Senior Living.
Doris was born January 3, 1927 in Decatur, to Frank and Callie (Ray) Nalefski. She married Jim R. Mattchen in 1947. They were married for 68 years. He passed away April 6, 2016. Doris was an avid bridge player, Cubs Fan, and spent summers on the boat and winters in Florida.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Arlene) Mattchen of St. Petersburg, FL; two daughters, Sharon (Clair) Wingard of Decatur and Janet (friend, Barb Dyke) Fulk of Decatur; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Robert Nalefski of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; one great-great-granddaughter; 3 brothers and 8 sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church 2400 S Franklin Street Rd, Decatur, with Very Reverend Joseph M. Molloy, V.F., officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church before the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Harbor Light Hospice.
