Dorothea A. Ducy's Obituary
Decatur-Dorothea A. Ducy, 81, of Decatur, passed away 10:26 am Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
Services to celebrate Dorothea's life will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Spruel officiating. Visitation will be from 6 ' 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date as cremation rites will be accorded as per her wishes. Dorothea was born on October 10, 1928 in Decatur the daughter of George W. and Fern (Wiggins) Koons. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and continued her education to become an LPN and a Certified Histologist. Dorothea married Daniel Ducy on June 7, 1945 in Cairo, IL. She was a member of Ladies of the Moose, she was a DMH Volunteer, she was member of the Lioness Quilters Group, Dorothea enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family.
Dorothea is survived by her husband of 65 years Dan, her son David (wife ' Linda) Ducy of Fort Wayne, IN; her daughter-In-law Teri Ducy and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothea was preceded by her parents and her sons Michael F. Ducy and William P. Ducy.
