Dorothy June Arndt's Obituary
Dorothy June Arndt, 91, of Macon, IL, passed away on Tuesday (03-28-2023) at 2:30 A.M. at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Dorothy was born on July 18, 1931, in Mt. Zion, IL, the daughter of Jess Heiserman and Daisy (Sullivan) Heiserman. She married Carl Maurice “Amby” Arndt on January 7, 1951, in Macon, IL. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.
Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Macon, IL. She devoted her life to others. Dorothy and Carl spent many years fostering children, she fed families in the community and was a caretaker for the elderly. Dorothy loved her coffee days with her friends. She enjoyed doing word games, puzzles, playing on her I-Pad, baking and especially loved fellowship with all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Phil Arndt and wife Liqiu Zho Arndt of Macon, IL; Alan Arndt and wife Carolyn Arndt of Macon, IL; Crystal Klein of Maroa, IL; Jodi Ferguson of Decatur, IL; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bill Arndt, two brothers: Richard Heiserman and Everett Heiserman, one sister Margaret Pasley and two granddaughters: Stacey Arndt and Keri Arndt.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday (04-01-2023) at First Baptist Church in Macon, IL, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL.
