Decatur – Dorothy Marie (Moore) Chenoweth, 87, of Decatur, passed away at 12:20 pm Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
Services to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment with the: Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association or Fair Havens Christian Home. Dorothy was born October 1, 1922 in Bluff City, Illinois, the daughter of Claude and Editha (Curless) Moore. She married Raymond A. Chenoweth on August 23, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1987.
Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family, but will live forever in their hearts and memories.
She will be missed by her one son: Wayne (Lois) Chenoweth of Decatur, three daughters: Phyllis (Robert) Howell of Mt. Zion, Rita Veech of Oakley, and Patty (Scott) Swarms of Decatur, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her husband: Raymond, her parents, infant son: Robert Lee Chenoweth, six brothers, and one sister.
