Decatur-Dorothy L. Dearing, 85, of Decatur passed away at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 in McKinley Court.
Services to celebrate Dorothy's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Dorothy was born April 10, 1926 in Equality, IL the daughter of John and Leta (Parmley) Jones. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She married James Medford Dearing September 17, 1942. He preceded her in death June 1, 2009.
She leaves behind her daughters; Connie Smallwood and husband Patrick of Decatur and Donna Davis and husband Darrell of Coal City, brother; John, sisters; Norma, Helen, Patsy, and Katherine, ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; James, son; Gary Dearing, daughter; Mary Campbell, and great-granddaughter; Megan Billingsley.
