Dorothy E. Fisher's Obituary
Dorothy E. Fisher, 76, of Decatur, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Fisher was born April 9, 1935, in Fairfield, IL, daughter of William H. and Mary O. (Harl) Lewis. She worked several jobs throughout her life, including: Steak & Shake, where she met her future husband finally retiring from Macon County Court House in 2000. She married Thomas Grant Fisher August 25, 1953 and he preceded her in death May 4, 1986. Ms. Fisher loved to cook, bowl, dance and sing karaoke. Mom you were an inspiration to your family and to all your many friends. Your smile, your laugh and your cooking will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. We want to thank you for all the memories. Surviving is her son, John Fisher of Macon; daughters: Diane (Neal) Shehorn of Decatur, Karen (Donald) Chase, Sr. of Newton, IA, Sheila Fisher and Shelly Mayfield of Decatur; grandchildren: Audria (Bill) Doran, Luke (Carla) Shehorn, Thomas Fisher, Crystal Chase, Brandy Fisher, Donald Chase, Jr. and Jared Jones; six great grandchildren with one more on the way; brothers: Kenneth Lewis of Decatur, Tom Lewis of Vandalia, Jack Lewis of Decatur and Bob Lewis of MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ms. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Raquel and infant brother, Jerry. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 1 pm until the service time of 2 pm in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery concluding with the “Flight Home” ceremony.
