Dorothy Jean Henderson's Obituary
Decatur- Dorothy Jean Kennedy Henderson, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur, Illinois.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at East Park Baptist Church, 1919 S. Baltimore Avenue, Decatur, Illinois, with Pastor Ryan Banman officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to East Park Baptist Church.
Dorothy Jean was born January 7, 1922, in Frankford, Missouri, the daughter of Elon Franklin and Teresa Ann (Todd) Kennedy. She graduated from Frankford High School. She married Robert Lee Henderson on August 11, 1946 in Louisiana, Missouri. In 1952 they moved to Decatur, Illinois where Robert taught at Decatur High School and MacArthur High School and Dorothy was a homemaker. They were members of East Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Moore and husband Jack, of Decatur; son, Joseph, of Chicago; grandchildren: Jeremy Moore and wife Jennifer of Mt. Zion; Andrew Moore and wife Deana of Decatur, and Jonathan Moore of Decatur, and great-grandchildren: Connor and Tyson Moore; Emily and Allison Moore.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, her parents, and husband.
