Dorothy (McCoy) Josserand's Obituary
Forsyth-Dorothy (McCoy) Josserand, 88, of Forsyth, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy was born January 24, 1926 in Decatur, the daughter of Carlen and Sarah (Bailey) McCoy. During World War II she worked at the Illiopolis Ordinance and war plants in Chicago and California. She then had a beauty shop in her home for several years. She finally worked in sales at the Casual Corner where she retired. She was a member of the Texas Christian Church in Clinton, IL. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and dancing especially square, ballroom, and round. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Dorothy married Joe Josserand February 24, 1945. They shared over sixty-nine years of marriage.
Dorothy leaves behind her husband Joe, daughter Sharon (Tom) Titus of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, daughter-in-law Carol Josserand, grandchildren Kimberly (James) Clark and Ryan Josserand, and great-grandchildren Katie, Joe, Sophie, Aiden, and Elena.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, son Larry Josserand, and grandchildren Jason and Alicia.
Services to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Private entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Texas Christian Church in Clinton, IL.
