Dorothy E. Stansbury's Obituary
Decatur-Dorothy E. 'Dot' Stansbury, 90, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2155 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Dot was born September 20, 1922 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of John and Agnes (McCutchen) Danner. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and TOPS. She enjoyed cooking, camping, reading, knitting, singing, and spending time with family and friends. She married Lyle Stansbury March 16, 1946. He preceded her in death September 19, 2002.
She leaves behind her son Richard Stansbury and wife Connie of Vista, California, daughter Nancy Stanley of Decatur, sisters Mary Easterling of Decatur and Barbara Oyler of Cerro Gordo, grandchildren Terry, Gary, Jerry, and Tony Hotwick and Dennis and Katie Stansbury, and great-grandchildren Kaley and Zachery.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, and three brothers.
