Dorothy Tish's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Tish, 90, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:05 P.M. on Monday (11-17-2025) in Randall Residence of Decatur.
Dorothy was born on July 15, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lloyd J. Riggs and Mabel Alice (Cox) Riggs. She married Lowell Duane Tish on April 11, 1954, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1989.
Dorothy was lovingly known as “Grandma Dorothy” for over 50 years of providing home day care to children. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for 50 plus years. Dorothy was also a member of the Coachmen Camping Chapter. She was known for her sugar cookies that she baked often and her handmade Afghans. Most of all, she loved the Lord with all of her heart.
She is survived by her children: Mike Tish and wife Toni of Decatur, IL; Russell Tish and wife Missy of Murray, KY; and Kathy Dial of Decatur, IL; ten grandchildren: Derek, Melinda, Scott, Trisha, Travis, Shelly, Bryce, Corey, Brandon, and Amy Sue; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother Lee Riggs and wife Nancy of Mt. Zion, IL.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, daughter Tawny Guidas, two brothers Ray Riggs and Jim Riggs, and son-in-law Roger Dial.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday (12-05-2025) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 P.M. until service time. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
