Dorothy J Wallace's Obituary
Our God fearing mother, Dorothy Jeanne Wallace (nee Mullinax), loving wife of Robert Wallace, left this world and all its sorrows, on July 27, 2020. She was born on a farm Sept. 23, 1926, in Texico, Jefferson County, Illinois. She was a devoted mother to her children: son, Larry and wife, Nan (Wise) Wallace of Moweaqua, Illinois; daughter, Nancy (Wallace) and husband, Don Estep of Decatur, Illinois; daughter, Sarah (Wallace) and husband, Robert Renn of Decatur, Illinois; daughter, Melissa (Wallace) and husband, Michael Watson of Sebring, Fla. She had 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in her home going by her husband, Robert, grandson, Greg Wallace, 5 siblings and her parents.
Her spiritual rebirth occurred one Sunday morning as she and the children stepped into Riverside Baptist Church during a rain storm in 1957, while en route to another church in the area. The clear teaching of the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, brought a spiritual change to her life. Dorothy's changed life had a great influence in the lives of her husband and children. In the following years, she not only had a burden for the unsaved but also for the unborn. The teachings of the Bible, that all innocent life is sacred, left such an impression on her that she felt moved to be a part of the newly formed group "Eagle Forum" since its inception in the early 70’s. She also had a love of missions as she often entertained missionaries home on leave. Her love of missions also encouraged her to be a part of the Ladies Missions Group of Riverside Baptist Church. Blessed with many loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Dorothy also felt a burden for those who were orphaned. Dorothy's love of life, husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and our wonderful country exemplifies God's grace to all of us who follow in her footsteps. She will be missed until we're reunited with her in Heaven.
