Dortha White's Obituary
Dortha Mae (Peacher) White of Decatur passed on from this life on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in Decatur Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, where she had been a resident.
Dortha was born on September 1, 1925 in Louisville, IL the daughter of Lonnie and Goldie Ellen (Leffler) Peacher. Dortha had worked many years as a seamstress and a cook in many towns in central Illinois. Dortha married Robert Dale White on May 2, 1946 in Decatur, IL.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Lombardo (S. Joe) of Latham; Diana Dickey (Charles) of Decatur; Beverly Conaway (Dean) of Macon; Virginia Welker of Decatur; Gary Benson of Branson, MO; brothers, Dale Peacher of Texas; Clarence Peacher of Champaign; Ronnie Peacher of Urbana; sisters, Lora Runyon (Don) of Rantoul; Laura Peacher of Pesotum; Doris Stivers (Bob) of Pesotum; 7 grandson, 6 granddaughters, 4 step-grandchildren, 20 plus great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dortha was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Robert (Bob) White, Randy Benson, brothers, Al Peacher, Herschal Peacher, sister, Helen Fulfer, two infant grandchildren, and one step-grandson.
The family would like to thank Decatur Rehabilitation & Health Care Center staff for all their care of Dortha.
Honoring Dortha’s wishes cremation will take place at Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. Service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Decatur Rehabilitation & Health Care Center Activities Fund.
