Douglas Paul Zinn's Obituary
Douglas Paul Zinn, 64, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Decatur, IL.
He was born in Decatur on January 25, 1961, the only son of Marvin Zinn and Kay Bailey Zinn.
Douglas took great pride in his family and loved to spend time with them when he was able. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed going fishing, deer hunting, and improving his skills down at the gun range. He had a true soft spot for animals (especially dogs) and spent many hours volunteering at local animal shelters.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Mosser Zinn; son, Tyler Zinn and wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Kinley Zinn; three sisters, Angie Wiliams and husband Fred, Alicia Wellens and husband JP, and Anessa Bassler; several aunts and uncles, including close uncle Denny Zinn and wife Linda; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honor of Douglas’s wishes, no public services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County, or to the Macon County Animal Control and Welfare Center.
