Duane Eugene Lawrence's Obituary
Duane Eugene Lawrence, 72, of Sullivan, Illinois, passed away on November 12, 2024.
Duane was born in Decatur, Illinois, on August 4, 1952, the son of Everett Lawrence and Virginia (David) Lawrence of Warrensburg. He graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School and married Mary Cathern Lawrence in 1987. Duane worked as a farmer in his early life near Warrensburg. Later in life, he worked as an automobile mechanic until he became disabled. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and driving sports cars such as his Dodge Challenger, Corvette, and Pontiac Firebird TransAms. Duane especially enjoyed listening to music such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
Duane is survived by his brother, Everett Marion Lawrence, and sister-in-law, Judith Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, and father.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing funeral services for Duane. Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Tuesday, November 26. Immediately following visitation, funeral services will be conducted at 11 am in the Graceland Fairlawn chapel. After conclusion of the funeral services, internment services will be held at his grave site. Condolences maybe shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
