Decatur- E. Robert “Bob” Leake, 93, of Decatur, passed away Friday, August 07, 2015 in Keystone Gardens.
Bob was born July, 31, 1922, in Decatur, IL the son of Fredrick and Velma (Peters) Leake . Bob was a lifelong resident of Decatur. Bob worked for Mueller Co. and later retired with over forty-five years of service. He married Madolyn Ruth Crain on June 30, 1946 in Decatur, IL. They shared sixty-three years together. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2008 .He loved playing baseball with his three brothers in his younger years, bowling and square dancing. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling with his wife. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed life and people. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church.
Bob is survived by his daughter Robyn (Rick) Chizmark of Joliet, IL; granddaughter, Amy Miller; grandson, Wes (Donna) Miller; Great grandsons, Ethan and Roman Miller, brother Bill (Phyllis) of Florida, sister-in-law Rosemary of Decatur, nephews David (Rena) Leake of Champaign and Gary (Lisa) Leake of Texas, and many good friends from Maple Court and Keystone Gardens. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Madolyn Ruth, his parents, Fredrick and Velma, Brothers, Gene and Harold, sister-in-law Dori (Bill) Leake.
Cremation will take place at Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11am in the First United Methodist Church, 201 W North St, Decatur, IL 62522. Memorials are suggested to his name, made out to the church of First United Methodist Church.
