Edith L. Beaver's Obituary
Decatur- Edith L. (Malmgren) Beaver, 95, of Decatur passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
A service to celebrate the life of Edith will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, visitation 10:00 a.m. till the time of the service. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church or St Jude’s Children Hospital.
Edith was born October 25, 1915 in Fulton County, Illinois the daughter of Arthur and Lucy (Tindall) Malmgren. She graduated from London Hills High School in 1934 and then entered Nurses Training at Graham Hospital in Canton, Illinois where she graduated in 1937. She moved to Decatur on December 31, 1937 and worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital for three years. Edith later worked for Dr’s Smith and Stanley for many years. She married Noble Beaver on July 21, 1950 he preceded her in death November 20, 1994.
She is survived by her brother; Ralph (Gilda) Malmgren, and sister; Clara Oldfield, nephew; Robert (Sue) Oldfield, nieces; Patricia (Tom) Duley, Sherry Malmgren, and Diana Tillia, and many great nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one baby brother, and a nephew Terry Malmgren.
