Edith Winifred Hicks' Obituary
Decatur-Edith Winifred Hicks, 94, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in her home reuniting her with her husband Edmond.
Edith was born February 15, 1922 in Kansas the daughter of Irvin and Agnes (Harmon) Offutt. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed life to its fullest. She had many friends and cherished them all. Edith married Edmond Hicks on April 24, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2004.
Edith leaves behind her son Tom (Staci) Hicks, daughters Teresa (Fred) Smith Black, Rhonda (Alan) Ball, Jan (Terry) Dare, Roberta Thurn, Jeanne (Bill) Anderson, Edmunda Benz, Tammy (David) Bishop, Sandra (Guy) Hudson, and Ginny (Sonny) Dean, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edith will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Services to celebrate Edith’s life will be 1:30 PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Pieta Garden Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery.
