Edmund Johnson's Obituary
Edmund Johnson, 82, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.
Edmund was born on August 15, 1932, in Kewanee, to Edmund A. and Clara (Gobeyn) Johnson. He married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Joan Huber on November 29, 1953 in Kewanee. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2012. He served in the US Army in December 10, 1952 to December 9, 1954 during the Korean War. He received a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal
He worked for Central Illinois Scale Company for more than forty years. He was a very hardworking and dedicated family man.
Surviving are his daughters, Andra (Joshua Price) Trimby of Decatur and Paula (Paul) Smith of Washington; three grandchildren, Krista Trimby, Decatur, Ian Smith and Lauren Smith both of Washington; and one sister, Claredda Steubinger of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Services to celebrate the life of Edmund will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kewanee at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Collins 2 Care Unit in Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.
