Edward Bonner's Obituary
Edward Arthur Bonner, 90, passed away on September 24,2023 at Mt. Zion Healthcare. Edward was born on December 6,1932 in Wamac, Il to Edward and Glenna Bonner.
Edward was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1992 from the Firestone Plant in Decatur as a supervisor in the tire room. He was a devoted family man and loved his family dearly. He was a deacon at First Christain Church in Decatur for many years. He also took great pride in his yard and landscaping, and it showed.
Edward leaves behind to cherish memory wife of 67 years, Patricia Bonner; son Edward M. Bonner; daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Hartman; grandsons, Kyle (Kelsey) Floyd, Seth (Meaghann) Floyd and Cody (Caitlyn) Floyd, and Rivver Bonner; granddaughter, Emily Floyd ; 10 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ruth Brown and Pauline Shaw.
A visitation will be held for Edward on Monday, October 2,2023 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home from 12:00-1:00pm. A funeral service will also be held at Graceland Fairlawn following the visitation. The burial of Edward will proceed after services in the Graceland Cemetery with Military honors.
