Edward K. "Cookie" Horve's Obituary
Decatur – Edward K. “Cookie” Horve, 74, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence.
Cookie was born August 30, 1939 in Decatur, the son of Wilbert and Ardith (Lawhorn) Horve. A U.S. Army Veteran, Cookie worked as a welder, forklift operator, and in quality control at Caterpillar before he retired. He married Margaret R. Whitacre on December 24, 1960 in Decatur and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his four sons: James (Patty) Horve of Decatur, Michael (Carrie) Horve of Decatur, Paul (Brenda) Horve of Decatur, and Pat (Jamie) Horve of Macon, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Regina) Horve of Decatur; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services to celebrate his life will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Flaugher officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Interment with military rites will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Second Church Of God.
