Edward L. Hahn's Obituary
Decatur-Edward L. Hahn, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 05, 2012 in Heartland Health Care Center.
Services to celebrate Ed's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 2055 S. Franklin in Decatur. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial with military honors and 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church
Ed was born September 2, 1929 in Decatur, the son of Alvin and Lois (Gunter) Hahn. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was previously employed as a union cement mason retiring from Decatur Cement Masons Local #103. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and served as financial secretary of the cement masons for thirty-five years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he served as an elder. He married Cora Nash September 9, 1951.
He leaves behind Cora, his beloved wife of over sixty years, son Bruce Hahn and wife Bonnie of Orlando, Florida, daughter Pamela Hahn of Urbana, and granddaughter Anna Hahn of Boston, Massachusetts.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, sister Barbara Hahn, and grandson Christopher Hahn.
