Edward Lee Harding's Obituary
Edward L. Harding, 75, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Symphony of Decatur surrounded by his family.
Ed was born November 27, 1939 in Moweaqua to Harry and Opal (Burks) Harding. He was a Staff Sergeant serving in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He married Karen Mullen on August 30, 1974 at Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur.
Ed loved farming and was devoted to reading and studying his bible daily. He was a member of Decatur Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Ed is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen; his two daughters, Pam Cooksey of Morton and Lori (Scott) McIntire of Bloomington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services to celebrate the life of Edward Harding will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors Project or American Cancer Society.
