Edward E Marshall's Obituary
Edward E. Marshall, 93, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Ed was born August 15, 1922 in Ashland, IL to Raymond Earl and Eva Florence (Bosham) Marshall. He proudly served in the Army from 1943 to 1945. He married Norma Lee Holmes on June 6, 1948 in Decatur, IL. He was a weigh master at Staley’s for many years. Ed had a love for CB Radio where he was known as “Backhoe”.
Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma; two children, Edward R. Marshall of Decatur and Vickie L (David) Blessin of Bulverde, TX; two grandchildren, Jennifer Blessin and Matthew Blessin; one great-grandson, Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rickie E. Marshall; two brothers, Raymond “Jr” Marshall and George Marshall; and one sister, Ruby Boswell.
The family would like to thank Rhonda Marshall, Aunt Bonnie, Johnny, the girls at Eagle Ridge and the Decatur Police Department.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Edward Marshall will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated later.
