Eleanor Hoan's Obituary
DECATUR- Eleanor Elizabeth 'Betty' Hoan, 83 of Decatur, passed away at 9:55 AM Saturday, February 12, 2011 in Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, with her loving family at her bedside.
Private family service will be held in Buffalo N.Y. Memorials are suggested to Imboden Creek Living Center. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Betty was born on February 17, 1927 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Marcus and Mary (Hayes) Eagen. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Betty married Patrick Joseph Hoan on April 19, 1947 in Buffalo, N.Y. He passed away after celebrating 56 years together on September 24, 2003.
Surviving are her children- Beverly Hanlon and husband Jim of Oakland, CA., Mary Pat Smith and husband David of Decatur and Patrick Joseph Hoan, Jr. and his wife LorriAnn of South Elgin; grandchildren- James, Patrick and his wife Jovonna, Rob and MaryKate Hanlon, Jenna and Tim Smith, Patrick, Hallie and Hunter Hoan; and three great grandchildren- Molly, Ellie and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers.
To the staff at Imboden Creek Living Center- We owe an enormous debt of gratitude for the loving, compassionate care shown to 'Nana'. You took us into your hearts as if we were family, and your kindness made 'Nana's' life better.
Betty will live on in the many lives she touched.
