Eleanor R. Piraino's Obituary
Decatur-Eleanor R. Piraino, 89, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Fair Haven Christian Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a vigil prayer service at 4:45 p.m. Interment with “Flight Home” ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or American Diabetes Association.
Eleanor was born May 8, 1922 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel and Helen (Scalise) Madia. She married Victor Mattingley who preceded her in death in 1952. She married Dominic Piraino in 1958 who preceded her in death in June of 2000. She worked as a secretary for Erwin Neisler Company for over 20 years and also worked part time for Grey, Piraino, and Smith Accounting Firm. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Decatur.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Gregory Mattingley and wife Jeannie of Decatur and Jeffrey Piraino and wife Barb of Pekin, grandchildren, Jennifer Lane and husband Shawn of Indianapolis, Kyle Piraino of Decatur and Mark Piraino also of Decatur, and sister, Lavern Greene of Decatur.
She was greeted into Heaven by her two husbands, parents, four brothers, Lou, Joe, Eugene and Samuel Jr, and one sister Catherine.
