Eleanor Tarvin's Obituary
Eleanor M. (McCauley) Tarvin, 89, of Decatur, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on August 29, 2018 at 4:48 pm at St. Mary’s Hospital with her husband of 70 years and their 3 children by her side.
Eleanor was the youngest of three children born to George and Kitty McCauley on July 17, 1929.
In 1942 Eleanor met the man of her dreams, Donald Tarvin. They married in 1948 and in the union, four children blessed their lives;Deborah (Michael) Queen, Thomas (June) Tarvin, Kim Tarvin and daughter Nancy Tarvin who went to be with Jesus shortly after birth.
Eleanor worked at Pauls Confectionary and later at the Signal Depot after which she became a homemaker. She was a member of the Hilltoppers Luncheon Group.
Eleanor also leaves behind to cherish her memory 7 grandchildren; Jason (Tricia) Queen, Krystal (Anthony) Buscher, Timothy (Amanda) Tarvin, Kandy (Dallas) Ashford, Steve (Abby) Golladay, Brooke (Julie) Golladay and Jennifer (Nathan) Hoenes along with twelve great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia Di Giovanni and brother, Wendell McCauley.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Heritage Health of Mt. Zion and to the ICU unit and 4th floor staff of St. Mary’s for their excellent care and compassion.
Memorial may be made to Heritage Health of Mt. Zion.
A funeral service to honor Eleanor’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home at noon with a visitation an hour prior, beginning at 11 am. Reverend Linda Harrod will be officiating.
