Elizabeth Braden's Obituary
Elizabeth Braden, 100, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Prairie Creek Village.
Elizabeth was born November 27, 1919, in Creek Township, IL, to George W. and Lola J. (Hartsock) Bennett. She graduated from Decatur High School and University of Illinois in Urbana. She was a school teacher for many years. She married William E. Braden on September 12, 1943, in Decatur. They were married for 72 years before his passing on January 17, 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Dave) Smith; her son, Bennett Braden; granddaughters, Erica Braden and Carey (Mike) Kogol; her grandson, Scott (Amanda) Smith; great-grandsons, Mountain Duncan and Trinity Maple; great-granddaughters, Quinn Kogol and Charlotte Smith; and numerous nieces' nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and four sisters and one brother.
Private family graveside services to celebrate the life of Elizabeth Braden will be held. Memorials may be directed to DMH Hospice or the charity of your choice.
