Ellen Lee Sheffer's Obituary
Ellen Lee Sheffer, 83, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 5:10AM on Friday, (12/23/2022) at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL.
Ellen was born on March 11, 1939, in Highland Park, IL, the daughter of William DeVroeg and Evelyn (Carlson) DeVroeg. She married Donald David Sheffer on April 28, 1962, in Highland Park, IL. He proceeded her in death on May 13, 2009.
Ellen was a member of Central Christian Church; she sang in the choir as well as played in the bell choir. She enjoyed needlepoint and loved going to hockey games.
She is survived by her three sons: William Kenneth Sheffer and wife Andrea of Decatur, IL; David Linden Sheffer of Decatur, IL; Michael Lee Sheffer and wife Juliet of Winter Garden, FL; Four grandchildren: Ian, Emily, Isabella and Alexandra; Four great-grandchildren: Matthew, Tanner, Abigail and Jayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday (01-04-2023) at Cental Christian Church with visitation two hours prior. Graveside service will be held at Macon County Memorial Park following the church service.
