Elma Connor's Obituary
Elma Evelyn Connor, 85, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, November 04, 2024, at Moweaqua Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moweaqua, IL.
Elma was born on March 14, 1939, in Cerro Gordo. She was a daughter of the late Lacey and Mardell Sample.
She made her living as a CNA, working for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital. Elma also spent time volunteering, rotating between several food banks and donation centers. She enjoyed traveling, usually preferring to walk wherever she was going when she was able.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: daughter, Sonya Renee McKinney; brothers, Ted Sample, Fred Sample, and Eddie Sample; and sisters, Lacefine Goller and Virginia Roberts.
Those surviving include: children, David McKinney, Scott McKinney, and Terri Montgomery; sister, Vada Montague; many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
The family of Elma Connor will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Bruce Homontowski. Committal service will be held immediately following in Graceland Cemetery.
