Elmer Mosser's Obituary
Elmer “Jim” Mosser, Jr., 90, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
Mr. Mosser was born on March 6, 1921 in Hammond the son of Elmer G. and Anna B. (Day) Mosser. A WWII Army veteran, Jim worked for Traver Ready Mix for 50 years. He loved to play golf and enjoyed watching auto racing. Jim married Bertha Pauline Arndt March 8, 1949 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Pauline of Decatur; son, Larry Mosser of Peoria; daughter, Darla (Doug) Zinn of Decatur; grandchildren: Nick, Kevin and Greg (friend, Chrissy) Mosser and Tyler (Jennifer) Zinn; great granddaughter, Maya; brothers: William Mosser and Pete (Donna) Mosser of Decatur; sister, Mary (Jim) Dodson of Champaign; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George and sister, Bonnie Vest.
Private graveside services to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
