DECATUR- Elnora Fay Jordan, 74 of Decatur, passed away at 6:29 am Thursday, May 6, 2010 in the emergency room at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Elnora's life will be held at 10 am Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, conducted by Pastors Bill and Brock Abbott. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Elnora was born on April 9, 1936 in Percy, Illinois, a daughter of Daniel and Tressie (Ledbetter) Jacoby. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Elnora owned and operated a restaurant and retired from GE. She enjoyed going to the GE Retiree's dinners and attending Gospel and Country Music Events. Elnora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose family was her greatest joy. Elnora married Dale Jordan on November 23, 1967 in the Oreana Baptist Church.
Elnora was blessed with a wonderful family that includes her husband of 42 years- Dale 'Shorty' Jordan, children- Cheryl Pinkley and her husband Steve of Myrtle Beach, SC., Sue Morris and her husband Michael of Monticello, Nancy Pygott and her husband Jim of Illiopolis and Randy Jordan of Normal, brothers- Arthur Jacoby of Decatur, Elmer Jacoby and his wife Janie of Oreana and Ira Jacoby and his wife Dorthea of Mt. Zion, sister- Freda Roberts and her husband Johnny of Mt. Zion, grandchildren- April, Lori, Jason, Jeremy, Jamie, Crystal, Tiffany, Kristy, Stefanie, Brandi, Kenny, Amanda, Dylan, Quinton, Austin, Jeff and Troy and fourteen great grandchildren.
Elnora was greeted in Heaven by her daughter- Connie Durbin, grandson- James Pygott, Jr., her parents, three brothers and six sisters.
