Decatur-Elsie Regina Slater, 88, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Decatur, passed away May 2, 2009 in Gainesville, Georgia.
Graveside services to celebrate Elsie’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Macon County Memorial Park. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Elsie was born February 22, 1921in Commerce, Georgia the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Watkins) Slater. She was a seamstress at the Garment Factory retiring after twenty-three years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. She married Carl W. Slater October 29, 1948.
She leaves behind her sister; Marylene Stoner of Gainesville, Georgia, brother; Berlan Slater and wife Margie of Gainesville, sister-in-law; Maxine Slater of Decatur, nieces; Mary Jane Robbins and husband Marty and Nancy Cordray and husband Larry both of Decatur, beloved nephew; Sam Robbins of Decatur, and a host of other relatives.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, husband, brother, and two sisters.
