Elsie Jean Virgil's Obituary
Elsie “Jean” Virgil, 68, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Fair Havens Christian Village.
Jean was born September 18, 1949, in Decatur, IL to Charles S. and Norma Jean (Carter) Madden. Jean was raised by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. G.J. Carter. She married John Mark Virgil on April 19, 1997 in Decatur, IL. She was a member of Mound Road Christian Church. Jean was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs fan and quite the history buff. She was such a blessing to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John Mark Virgil; her two sisters, Sharon (Jim) Polich of Crest Hill, IL and Debbie (Frank) Jeras of Bolingbrook, IL; two nieces, Venus Holzmann and Justina Martinez; and five nephews, Jimmy Polich, Jeffrey Polich, Eugene Jeras, Aaron Jeras and Kyle Jeras.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Joe Madden.
The family would like to give special thanks to United Cerebral Palsy.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jean Virgil will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to United Cerebral Palsy 602 E William St, Decatur, IL 62523.
