Elva A. Binkley's Obituary
Decatur-Elva A. Binkley, 91, of Phoenix, Arizona formerly of Decatur, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Phoenix with her family by her side.
Elva was born December 13, 1924 in Christian County, Illinois, the daughter of Charles F. and Bertha C. (Riley) Sloan. During World War II she was employed with Wagner Casting Company and after the war she worked for Crane Potato Chips and General Electric. Elva married Wallace Binkley December 24, 1945 in Decatur. He preceded her in death October 7, 2001.
Elva leaves behind her daughter Katherine Rilley and husband Ron, grandchildren Ron Jr. and Gloria Busonic, great-grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Jon and wife Mary, Joseph, and Elizabeth Busonic, a brother Marvin Sloan, sisters Mary Louise Sperry and Catherine Bernice Foster, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Elva was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, daughter Barbara, sons Wallace Jr. and Earl, and three brothers.
Funeral liturgy to celebrate Elva’s life will be 9:30 AM Saturday, June 11, 2016 with Rev. John Burnette officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, June 10, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
