The first time I met Eric was to Ronnies. Heath introduced us and told me that Eric worked security at the docks for the mob! Naturally, Eric went along with it. Because I was new to the Lane Family I was not sure if it was true :) Eric had a kind heart and soul. He always thought of our kids (Paxon and Julia). Paxton would go play videogames with Eric . I am glad that both my children got to see him at Christmas and brought him and Paula one of Eric's favorite meals: McDonalds Fish sandwich with a milk shake. You will be missed Eric. It was my honor to know you. We will miss you.

Some of my funniest teenage memories were spent with Eric and watching how he interacted with his nephews and nieces. I have fond memories of Eric playing games with Robbie, Kim and Travis or running after David Jr and I.

Eric was not my uncle but he always treated like a family member. When I first got my drivers license, Eric would have me drive him and his date to the location of choice. He would tell his date that I was his personal driver and I would go along with it.

Eric loved to dress up, listen to music and dance. Even though he may had some physical limitations, he was not disabled. Eric loved to dance and he loved to be active and loved to laugh.

This world was a better place because of Eric and he will be missed.

One of my strongest memories during every Christmas in my youth was Eric giving small gifts to all of the kiddos. It wasn't receiving the little present that was great it was seeing the joy he had watching us open them. His smile was from ear to ear with the patented Lane brothers belly laugh to accompany it.
I am reliving it right now. If you know what I am talking about stop reading this for 20 seconds relive it as well........1....... 2..... 3..... 4..... 5..... 6..... 7..... 8.... 9.... 10.... 11.... 12.... 13.... 14.... 15..... 16.... 17.... 18..... 19.... 20.... add extra time if you like.

Those that knew Eric were aware that he had it tougher than most, but never once did I witness a shred of self-pity. For me, he was an inspiration to always count my blessings and gather up as much love wherever I can find it as often as I can.
Rest forever as you lived, Uncle Eric, in peace.

Uncle Eric was such a gentle soul! He would always greet his nieces and nephews with such a wonderful smile. I would feel so special.
He didn’t have much to give, yet he was thoughtful enough to give newly printed quarters or gift cards at Christmas time.
His generosity, smile, and kind heart will be missed greatly.
