Ernest Lee Beasley, 60, of Decatur, IL passed away from this life on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in St. John’s Hospital.
Ernest was born on April 10, 1955 in Brownsville, TN the son of Mattie Beasley.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his, sons, Ernest Beasley Jr. (Jennifer) of Decatur; daughter, Angela Williams (Joseph) of Fort Wayne, IN; significant other, Connie Banks of Decatur; sisters, Lucile Poore; Gloria Beasley; Norma Comage (Jimmie); Luberta Wilder (Willie); and Charlie Beasley-DeBerry; all of Decatur; brothers Freddie Beasley; Ivory Beasley; Micheal Beasley; Larry Beasley all of Decatur; step-children, Lamont Banks; Keeva Banks and Juanita Banks; Nedra Burries; Robert Burries; Michael Burries; all of Decatur; special granddaughters, Letrice Williams (Joseph) and Ke’Arie Banks of Decatur; grandchildren, Tyonna Adams; Arion Beasley; KeVonte Banks; Kemareon Banks; Makayla Banks; great-grandson, Caden; special friend, Frank Rainer; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Beasley; son, James Phillips; grand-mother, Allen Beasley; grandfather, Willie Beasley and grandson, Ernest Beasley III, special friend, Lillie Burries and mother-in-law, Juanita Banks.
Ernest worked for Jan Master and had been employed there for at least 10 years. He loved to fish, ride his bike, and his riding mower. He was a family man to his home. He could cook like a chef.
He will truly be missed. He touched a lot of people’s hearts.
Homegoing celebration will be 11 AM Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
