Ernest "Boot" Lee's Obituary
Decatur-Ernest 'Boot' Lee, 57, of Decatur, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side.
Services to celebrate Ernest's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the House of Miracles, 441 N. Church St., with Pastor Leon Young officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Ernest was born May 26, 1953 in Brownsville, Tennessee the son of Earl and Essie (Banks) Lee. He graduated from Haywood Carver High School in 1972 in Brownsville. He was previously employed by Wagners and CB & Q. He then worked at Caterpillar with over thirty-six years of service. He was a kind and loving person. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, traveling, and watching sports. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He married Kathy Jarrett April 20, 1998.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife Kathy, sons; DeMarco Lee and wife LaTasha, Felipe Jarrett, and Jamelle Jarrett all of Decatur, daughter; Tosha Jarrett of Jackson, TN, mother and father in laws; Eula and Joe Jarrett, sisters; Earlie Nixon and husband Alex, Peggy Lee, and Margaret Lee all of Decatur, brothers; Walter 'Frog' Lee and wife Kathy of Kansas City, Kansas, Clarence Banks, Willie 'Dank' Lee, and Ralph 'Terry' Lee all of Decatur, best friend; Garland 'Big Man' Taylor of Decatur, special nieces; Brittney Lee, Yolanda Lee, and Hannah Henry and husband Leon of Decatur, special nephews; Lamont Banks, Joshua Williams and Markese Smith both of Decatur, eighteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, sisters; Juanita Banks and Diane Williams, niece; Virginia Ann Rodgers, and nephews; Vinson 'Rallo' Banks and Nazareth 'Cordero' Lee.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Doel, Dr. Wiranda, Dr. Kohli, Dr. Estrada-Garcia, Dr. Minnaganti, Dr. Tolentino, the ICU Unit, and the entire fourth floor staff of St. Mary's Hospital.
