Ernest Eugene Wrench's Obituary
Monticello-Ernest Eugene Wrench, 79, of Monticello, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Champaign Urbana Rehab in Savoy.
Gene was born August 9, 1935 in Monticello, Illinois, the son of Robert H. and Elsie G. (Blacker) Wrench. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a retired welder and enjoyed camping, puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends. Gene married Priscilla Torres August 29, 1964. She preceded him in death November 16, 1990. He then married Charlotte (Wileaver) Cody January 7, 1993.
Gene leaves behind his wife Charlotte of Monticello, son Joseph Wrench and wife Angela, daughter Donna Walters and husband Tracey, step-sons David Cody and wife Lori and Paul Cody and wife Jan, step-daughters Diana Kutz and husband Todd and Janet Rassi and husband Nat, sister Anna Pettyjohn, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Gene was reunited in Heaven with his parents, first wife, infant son Paul Eugene Wrench, brothers Harry, Clyde, Ralph, Homer, Gilbert, William, Hubert, and Roy Keith Wrench, and sisters Elsie Spriggs, Betty Cathers, and Nina Mae Wrench.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Carle Foundation Hospital, Kirby Hospital, Carle Hospice Care, and Champaign Urbana Rehab for all of their loving care.
Graveside services with military honors to celebrate Gene’s life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Monticello Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Carle Hospice Care.
