Esther Taylor's Obituary
Esther Lee Taylor, 81, of Decatur passed away on January 22, 2019 at 10 p.m. at Generations at McKinley Place in Decatur. She was born November 7, 1937 in Brownsville, Tennessee, the daughter of James and Mollie Buggs Shields.
Esther was a homemaker for many years. She was known as a great cook and spending time with her grandchildren.
Esther is survived by three sons, David (Gayle) Taylor of Bloomington; Willie (Carlotta) Taylor of Decatur; and Duwayne Taylor of Decatur; four daughters, Arlene Phillips of South Dakota; Barbara Taylor of Indianapolis; Carolyn Taylor of Decatur; and Teresa Taylor of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Willie Shields of Brownsville, Tennessee; and Joe Shields of St. Louis.
The family wishes to thank Marilyn Grayned for her assistance during these difficult times.
A graveside service will be held at Star of Hope Chapel at Gracelawn Cemetery on Friday, February 1, 2019 at noon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the mausoleum. Following services, a repast will be held at God’s Place of Deliverance, 1110 East Curtis Avenue, Decatur, IL 62526
