Evelyn Ballinger's Obituary
Decatur-Evelyn Ballinger, 95, of Nashville, Illinois, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville.
Services to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be at a later date. Interment will be private at Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Evelyn was born April 26, 1913 in Elliott, Missouri the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Gravitt) Spicer. She was a homemaker, child care provider, wonderful baker, and excellent host. She was a member of First Christian Church. She married Jess M. Ballinger. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She leaves behind her identical twin daughters Marcia Bowser of Lakeworth, Florida and Mary Wilcox and husband Michael of Salida, Colorado, sister; Edith Friend of Decatur, five grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, husband, brother, sister, and infant grandson.
