Evelyn Maude Reeves, 93, of Decatur, passed away at Thursday, April 18, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Decatur
Evelyn was born on August 25, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Harry and Marion (Smith) Bridgeford. Evelyn was a Homemaker most of her life, but did work building bombers during World War II. She loved Baseball, Hockey and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Evelyn is survived by her children Carol Reeves of Decatur, Ron (Toni) Reeves of Lakewood, OH, Marion (Tim) Zgrabik of Middleburg Heights, OH; grandchildren Christopher (Christine) Reeves of Tucson, AZ, Stephanie (Mark) Warnement of Medina,OH, Catherine (Mike) Nuzzo of North Royalton, OH; great grandchildren Elizabeth, William, Mathew, Michael and Alexis; sister Virginia Schwartz of Bedford, OH.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband William Sr. and son William Jr.
Donations may be made to Northeast Community Fund and St. John's Lutheran Church.
The Reeves family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Light Hospice for making her last days comfortable. A special thanks to the Evergreen Assisted Living staff for making the last year of mom's life peaceful and happy. Dedication, caring and love, made living at Evergreen a joy for her. Because of that, mom would refer to Evergreen as a piece of heaven. Margaret, thank you for always being there for mom. She always had a special place in her heart for you.
Per mom's request, no visitation or service is scheduled. Going to her eternal home to the Lord she dearly loved, was all she wanted.
